Mandy Dodds

BSc (SW), Hons Psych, MA ClinPsych, CPsychol

I’m a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years’ experience working in NHS mental health services.

I specialise in ADHD and autism diagnostic assessment for adults and previously worked in an NHS diagnostic service. My assessments are compliant with NICE guidance for diagnostic assessment for both conditions. My mental health experience allows me to consider differential diagnoses and co-occurring conditions which can be common in ADHD and autism. In this way, assessment is holistic, and the recommendations are tailored very much to your unique needs.

I also provide post diagnostic work to help people develop an authentic understanding of themselves and how to shape their lives to foster growth and acceptance following a diagnosis. I draw upon a range of therapeutic models, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT.) I am flexible in my approach and will offer adaptations to help you get the most from our work together. People with neurodiversity have many strengths and my approach helps build on these while helping you manage areas of difficulty.
