Hello, and welcome to my world of counselling and spiritual exploration.

I'm Suzanne, a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor with a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I specialise in a Psycho-Spiritual approach which incorporates mind, body and spirit drawing from various Humanistic Therapeutic models so that the counselling space can suit you on an individual level.

My journey in counselling has been profoundly shaped by humanistic and person-centered approaches. Carl Rogers, the visionary behind Person-Centered therapy, once compared Self-Actualisation to a potato left in a dark shed, with its roots persistently reaching for a sliver of sunlight through a crack in the wood. This powerful concept deeply resonated with me and ignited my passion for assisting individuals in discovering their inner potential for happiness and self-love. I firmly believe that each of us possesses this inner strength and power.

During my studies at Sweet Track Counselling Centre, we were held and encouraged to travel inwards using all of the tools we were learning. Through this I underwent a personal transformation, much like a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis. Here, I learned to embrace all aspects of myself, nurturing the connection between mind, body, and spirit.

So when it came to naming my Counselling Practice, I wanted a name that captured the essence of transformation and empowerment. The image of a caterpillar evolving into a butterfly symbolised the profound changes I experienced throughout my counselling journey, leading me to open my heart, discover my sparkle, and align with my spirit.

In addition to my Level 4 Diploma, I had the privilege of working for three years at a local charity, supporting adults facing severe mental health challenges, homelessness, and addiction. I was part of the Housing First program, a client-centered initiative that houses and empowers individuals to choose the support they need. Building trust with clients who had lost faith in others was an incredible honour and reinforced my commitment to this field.

My dedication to trauma-informed work grew during this time, further deepening my understanding of human systems and resilience.

Now I currently work part time as an Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA), and also volunteer as a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor for the NHS. This work is a rewarding journey, offering vital support to those who need it most.

I am a registered member of the BACP (MBACP), the NCPS (MNCPS, Acc.), and the Complementary Medical Association (MCMA). I am also affiliated with The Counsellors Collective South West, who have been a source of support since my training days.

I am committed to upholding the highest standards in my practice. To ensure this, I actively engage in continuous professional growth and development (CPD), and attend regular supervision sessions with a qualified Supervisor. These sessions are invaluable in ensuring that I provide the best support to my clients, always working in your best interests.

My passion for counselling was kindled early in life, and despite life's twists and turns, I persevered. Thanks to a friend's unwavering encouragement, I embarked on this transformative journey. Today, I consider my work a vocation, creating a safe and nurturing space for individuals to explore and embrace their unique paths to healing.

I invite you to join me on this profound journey of self-discovery and empowerment. Together, we can navigate the depths of your inner world, just as I have on my own remarkable voyage.
