About

Laura is a qualified Clinical Psychologist who has worked in mental health settings across England and Wales for over 10 years. Laura is committed to offering a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental service to clients of all ages. Laura has experience in working with charities including domestic abuse and bereavement services. Laura has also worked in a vast variety of mental health settings, continuing to work across the NHS and private sector. Laura’s passion for psychology began in older people’s services and thus has experience and interest in working with clients experiencing difficulties related to anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, cognitive impairment (including Dementia), adjusting to life transitions and coping with illness. 

Most recently, Laura has developed a specialist interest in working with children and families. Laura has a passion for supporting children through pivotal stages of their development as they navigate new stages of life. Laura delivers bespoke psychological interventions to children of all ages and can support with anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, and attachment difficulties. Laura also welcomes parents who may be struggling with difficulties related to parenting. 

Laura is committed to offering evidence-based interventions and has a passion for research, with her own recent publications. 

Therapies Offered

Laura offers bespoke psychological interventions, drawing on a range of evidence-based therapies depending on the person’s needs. This includes: 

-Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) 

-Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) 

-Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) 

-Dialectical Behaviour Therapy 

Laura also draws on and incorporates systemic and relational ways of working, recognising the influence attachment, culture, relationships and societal factors can have on individual difficulties.  

When considering therapy for children and adolescence, therapy is tailored not only to individual mental health needs but also to children’s developmental and communication needs. This may involve personalised and tailored therapy resources to support their understanding of their own difficulties.
