Joanna qualified as a Clinical Psychologist at the world-renowned Institute of Psychiatry, University of London, in 1992. She has been a Consultant Clinical Psychologist since 1999 and was the Head Psychologist for a specialist service in the NHS in Dorset until 2023 at which time she went on the expand her private practice.

She has assessed and treated hundreds of adults with complex mental health needs including anxiety, depression, psychosis, addictions and personality disorders. She is trained in a range of therapeutic interventions including CBT, DBT, EMDR and schema therapy. She has extensive experience of contributing to national strategy in the commissioning of specialist services, developing new NHS services and evaluating outcomes.
